There, a husband who only comes at night greets her, but doesn't allow her to see him. The woman's sisters trick her into lighting a lamp at night, discovering his identity as Cupid, so the he leaves, betrayed. The sisters are killed by Zephyr. Psyche ends up begging Aphrodite for forgiveness, who agrees only if Psyche performs nearly impossible tasks, but Psyche is helped by Cupid and completes them. Eventually, Cupid gets Zeus's blessing to marry Psyche, so Psyche becomes a goddess and is married to Cupid.
