I design a study that compares the association between % of population below the age of 18 in a neighborhood and the rate of public urination citations in the same neighborhood. I find a positive association between my two variables (i.e. neighborhoods with a lot of people below the age of 18 also have high rates of public urination citations). I interpret these results to mean that younger individuals are more likely to be cited for public urination than older individuals. This is a poor conclusion to draw because I am committing what kind of fallacy?
