She became the most famous "conductor" on the underground railroad. She made dozens of trips back into the South to help hundreds of slaves make their way to the north. Slave owners put a price on her head, but she was never captured, but she did have some close calls on occasion. She later became an outspoken abolitionist. And served as a spy for the union during the Civil War.
