CAUSE- Soviet claim territory in Europe and intend to spread communism EFFECT- the USA took the policy of containment to prevent soviet power MY OPINION- this is the biggest because the Soviet Union wanted power and to rule but the USA was afraid of communism so therefore they would have to fight because they both wanted something different CAUSE- the USA and Soviet Union created many bombs EFFECT- nuclear arms race begins but they would not fire on each other because it would be destruction MY OPINION- I think this is a big cause because after WW2 a race began to be the best with weapons. This was the first time this had occurred so now each country wanted the most bombs and the Soviet Union and USA were big enemies over weapons. Also the Soviet Union was afraid of the power of USA weapons
